Grade 3s at Fenghuang Huayuan Primary are the first to have a go at translating some of the mysterious poems in Zhu’s latest book Bug’s Poetry. Each student seems to have a different interpretation – one takes the shapes of the corn weevil’s ‘writing’ and interprets it as Chinese characters, while another skips Chinese and translates straight into English.
